Are you a skilled mechanic with leadership experience and a love for 4x4s? 4x4 Suspension Specialists Pty Ltd is a small but busy workshop looking for a passionate Workshop Manager Mechanic to help lead our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our lead suspension engineer, who brings over 20 years of real-world experience in product design, development, and installation.

🔧 About the Role

As our Workshop Manager Mechanic, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our Slacks Creek workshop. You’ll manage scheduling, lead a small team by example, and ensure every job meets our high standards for safety, quality, and performance. This is a hands-on role where your technical knowledge will be just as important as your leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily workshop operations, including scheduling, workflow, and team coordination

Mentor and guide junior mechanics, helping to build their technical skills

Work directly with our experienced suspension engineer on installs and upgrades

Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standard

Deliver top-tier customer service and technical advice

Support the business as it grows, with input into systems and processes

✅ What We’re Looking For

Formal qualifications in Automotive Mechanics, Steering & Suspension (highly advantageous)

Previous experience as a Senior Mechanic or Workshop Manager (4x4 experience highly preferred)

Thorough knowledge of suspension systems, performance upgrades, and 4x4 setups

Strong leadership and mentoring ability, with a team-first attitude

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Willingness to be hands-on in the workshop alongside the team
