Fundraising and Events Lead
Are you a creative, strategic fundraiser who thrives on building community and delivering meaningful events?
Join our dynamic and purpose-led team to raise vital funds and awareness for programs that assist women seeking employment.
About DFSV
Dress for Success Victoria is a registered Australian charity and part of the global Dress for Success network. We provide free professional clothing, career support and job-readiness programs to women facing barriers to employment - helping them build confidence and independence through work.
About The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Fundraising and Events Lead who can balance strategy with creativity and drive. You'll plan and deliver our major fundraising events (like the Gala and Oaks Day), coordinate donor appeals and digital campaigns and support community fundraising efforts.
You’ll work closely with the CEO and collaborate across a sub-committee to engage supporters, grow revenue, and deliver high-impact events aligned with our values.
This is a varied, meaningful role that combines planning, people engagement, storytelling, and impact.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for:
Fundraising
Implement a calendar of annual fundraising campaigns and appeals.
Coordinate donor communications, stewardship activities, and donor journey planning to build lasting relationships.
Support national peer-to-peer campaigns such as Equal Pay Day, including campaign logistics, supporter engagement, and collateral.
Maintain up-to-date donor and fundraising data in the CRM, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
Collaborate with the CEO to support activation of partner-linked fundraising initiatives (e.g. branded events or matched-giving campaigns).
Events
Lead the planning, promotion, and delivery of all major events including:
Annual Gala or Signature Events
Community fundraising events and third-party activations
Awareness and stakeholder engagement events
Manage event logistics including budgeting, timelines, venue liaison, ticketing, volunteers, and run sheets.
Ensure each event provides a high-quality guest experience and reflects our values and impact.
Marketing & Communications Support
Work closely with the CEO to develop content for fundraising and events promotions, including:
Email campaigns, invitations
Event collateral and signage (using Canva or similar)
Impact stories and donor/sponsor recognition
Help maintain brand consistency and tone across all communications.
Volunteer & Community Engagement
Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers for events and fundraising activities in conjunction with the HR and Volunteer CoOrdinator.
Cultivate relationships with individuals, workplaces, and community groups who support or fundraise for the organisation.
Represent Dress for Success Victoria at events and public engagements as needed.
This is a hands-on role that offers variety, purpose, and the opportunity to build strong community relationships while delivering real fundraising impact.
About You
You’re a natural organiser and communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. You balance creativity with strong attention to detail, and you’re passionate about creating experiences that inspire generosity.
You’ll bring:
3+ years' experience in fundraising, events, or stakeholder engagement
Strong project management skills and attention to detail
Confident communication—written, verbal, and public speaking
A collaborative approach and ability to work autonomously in a small team
CRM/database and email marketing experience (e.g. Raisely, Salesforce, Mailchimp)
Familiarity with fundraising platforms and donor stewardship best practices
A warm, values-driven attitude and confidence in representing a mission-led brand
Bonus: experience in NFP, community services, or women’s advocacy highly regarded.
Why Join Us?
At Dress for Success Victoria, you’ll find more than a job - you’ll find a community. We're a small, supportive, and passionate team committed to creating lasting change for women across Victoria.
We offer:
Salary packaging available
Flexible work arrangements over 3 days a week
A collaborative and values-led team environment
Purposeful work that has real community impact
