With the continued success and growth of our organisation comes the opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial services to support both the operational and strategic needs of the business.

This role will be full-time, working Monday to Friday based in our office in Dandenong South, Melbourne. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and initiative, while being supported by a collaborative finance team based in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
  • Managing fixed asset registers and lease schedules, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g. AASB 16).
  • Preparing and maintaining financial schedules to support both internal and external reporting.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and audit deliverables.
  • Reconciling accounts, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supporting financial process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-support analysis.

The base salary for this role is between $76,000 and $81,000 (plus superannuation) dependent upon relevant experience and qualification.

As the successful candidate, you will have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, and be progressing toward CPA, CA or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
  • Experience with TechnologyOne ERP is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS is advantageous.
