An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Business Development Manager (Northern Region).
Reporting to the General Manager, and based in either Sydney or Brisbane, this role is responsible for increasing market share through managing product groups and specialties, existing and prospective customers, and sustainable profitable growth in line with the company’s strategic plan.
We are seeking applicants with a proven track record of sales success through a disciplined, strategic approach. Experience with government authorities, civil construction, and road construction organisations would be a distinct advantage.
The business has embarked on an exciting growth phase with the introduction of exclusive new products, offering an opportunity for the right candidate to grow and develop their skills in a diverse and challenging environment, within a company culture that values initiative and ideas for process improvement.
Key Focus Areas
Contribute to the achievement of the business plan and budget through the management of sales and product/project consulting
Maintain current customer base to continue product utilisation
Strategically pursue and build relationships with potential customers
Achieve sustainable, profitable, growth, and market share targets
A disciplined sales approach and use of company systems
Maintain a communicative, collaborative working environment
Ensure management and clear communication of customer requirements
Engage with strategic customers and key industry groups
Generate reports as required and provide feedback on industry and competitors
Maintain, and deliver on company core values and objectives
Skills & Experience Required
Proven success in a competitive sales market
Understanding or experience in civil construction, road safety, or associated industry
Sales strategy, product development and senior business experience
Knowledge of basic IT and Microsoft Office
Team player, with a passion to succeed and strong initiative
Reliable, hardworking, honest and resourceful
Passionate, energetic and committed to achieving sales targets
Genuine dedication to customer support and service
Professional, friendly and well-presented
Strong negotiation skills
High level of attention to detail, with strong organisational, time and priority management skills
Analytical, logic, and problem solving skills
