Gatton and Minden Bus Service is a family owned and operated school bus company operating in the Brisbane and Lockyer Valleys.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Heavy Diesel Mechanics for our workshops in Minden and Gatton QLD.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Close liaison with staff and management to ensure the smooth and timely operation of servicing and ongoing fleet requirements.

• Perform mechanical/electrical repairs on buses, trailers, light vehicles
• Prioritise work schedules for vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Review vehicle defect reports and raise work orders to repair vehicles
• Maintain vehicle servicing records
• Maintain fleet management schedules and coordinate between depots, Gatton, Minden, Lowood;
• Organise repairs and service to workshop equipment as required;
• Ensure the workshop is maintained in a clean and safe state;
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with the occupational health and safety management plan;
• Comply with all company procedures;
• Other duties as required.

Skills and experience

• The successful applicant will have attained relevant trade qualifications
• Strong mechanical, workshop and safety knowledge;
• Previous Bus/Coach experience an advantage;
• MR Licence;
• Ability to obtain Drivers Authorisation;
• High work ethic, reliable;
• Diagnostic / fault finding skills;

The role will be Monday to Friday, with flexible work and leave arrangements available during school holidays and guaranteed 4 weeks annual leave over christmas period. The opportunity provides a great work/life balance.
