Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail orientated Senior Tax Accountant to join a dynamic and collaborative boutique accounting practice on a part time basis (2-3 days per week). In this role you will take ownership of the tax division, preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for a portfolio of individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs. You will provide expert tax planning and business advisory services, liasing directly with the ATO and other government bodies to ensure compliance and resolve client matters efficiently, reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a leadership role in guiding juniot staff, while managing your own workflow and delivering timely, accurate results. This position offers autonomy, flexibility in your work schedule, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a practice that values, integrity, technical excellence and long term client relationships.
Your Profile
The ideal Senior Tax Accountant will have a proven technical expertise in tax compliance and business advisory, coupled with strong leadership and workflow management skills.
- Essential: Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar public practice accouting role, demonstrating proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns, managing tax compliance, and liasing with the ATO and government bodies.
- Ideal: CPA, CA or CTA qualification, with hands on experience using Xero and MYOB.
- Desired Attributes: A proactive and collaborative professional with excellent communication and mentoring skills, capable of managing tax workflows and supporting junior staff. High attention to detail, strong organisational abilities, and the capacity to work independently are essential for success in this role.
We are offering an exceptional opportunity that is available immediately for the right candidate. This position is a part time permanent role, based in Winthrop, WA with flexible hours working across 2-3 days per week.
