Full Time Medical Receptionist for Ophthalmology practice

38 hours per week Monday - Friday

Pure Sight Eye Surgeons is seeking a warm, professional, and organised Receptionist to join our growing team. This full-time role will be based at our boutique Paddington practice. There will be a 6-month period where the role will be shared between the Paddington and Richmond practices (approx 1-2 days per week). for training and team integration.

Our Paddington location is home to a subspecialist-led ophthalmology team, offering customised surgical procedures and vision outcomes for discerning patients. This is more than a front desk role—it's about creating an exceptional experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Your Key Responsibilities

Be the first point of contact—greeting patients and creating a welcoming, professional atmosphere.

Manage patient bookings, appointments, and enquiries in-person, over the phone, and via email including soft sales.

Support clinical flow by ensuring patient files are complete and assisting with day-to-day administration.

Process payments and Medicare claims.

Maintain the presentation and smooth operation of the reception and clinical areas.

Collaborate with both clinical and administrative staff to ensure patient journeys are seamless and personalised.

Preparation and sending of dictated consult reports to referrers.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in medical reception (ophthalmology or specialist practice preferred).

A polished, friendly, and calm communication style.

Strong attention to detail and confidence using/ability to master practice management software.

A commitment to outstanding patient service, especially in a boutique, personalised care setting.

Flexibility to work between our Richmond and Paddington locations for the initial training and onboarding period (6months). The two practices span across Sydney and so a car will likely be necessary for this period but not essential if located near public transport.
