About the role
As Aboriginal Heritage Systems Advisor, you will provide technical and analytical expertise to the Managing Country Together Directorate to identify and develop solutions around critical capacity and information gaps. You will provide tailored training to Managing Country Together staff to strengthen in-house capability to provide advice and to record cultural heritage data to the required standard. You will have the opportunity to develop and improve the systems and approaches needed to track progress and performance with respect to Aboriginal heritage compliance and conservation. You will provide reliable and timely data analysis for corporate reporting, program monitoring and evaluation and build the evidence base for future business cases. This is a statewide role.
We're looking for someone with:
- Extensive experience in the field of Aboriginal cultural heritage protection
- Expert knowledge of Aboriginal cultural heritage legislation, governance and policies in Victoria
- Ability to develop innovative, sensitive and practical solutions and provide strategic advice to complex issues
- Relevant experience and/or specialist or post-graduate qualification in cultural heritage management is required
