Comtex Security & Defence is on the lookout for a motivated Electronic Security Technician to join our growing Sydney-based team.

You’ll get to work on enterprise level, cutting-edge security systems — from CCTV and alarms to access control and intercoms — across varied and high-impact projects in commercial, government, defence, transport, and more. No two days are the same.

What You'll Be Doing:

Install, program, commission, and service advanced electronic security systems

Work solo or as part of a dynamic team

Travel across the Sydney metro area (and sometimes beyond!)

Tackle real-world challenges — like fault-finding and commissioning large-scale systems

Represent Comtex to our valued clients — your communication skills matter

What We’re Looking For:

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Certification in systems like Integriti, Gallagher, or Tecom

Hands-on with enterprise VMS like Genetec, Milestone, or Avigilon

Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (for security clearance)

NSW Security Licence (or willing to get one)

Confident with tools, electronics, basic IP networking, and reading security drawings/cable schedules etc.

Great communicator, self-starter, and team player

Bonus Points if You Have:

Experience with Inner Range Concept or DOE school systems

Skills installing electronic locks, cabling, or door hardware

RIW/RISI/ASIC card

White Card + EWP/Boom Lift ticket

Cabling licence
