About the role
The Principal Project Officer will lead the NPWS Blue Mountains Branch Infrastructure maintenance, renewal and development program. You will work closely with the Branch Director and Area Teams to ensure the branch asset portfolio meets the needs of the community and delivers positive conservation and economic outcomes.
About You
To be successful, the role is required to work collaboratively with a range of teams within NPWS, other government agencies and external stakeholders. You will need to be adaptable and flexible in managing competing priorities in a demanding work environment.
Have excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills to develop and deliver on a program of works, as well as extensive experience in planning, implementing and managing operational and visitor infrastructure projects in a natural area context and including; walking tracks, lookouts, public roads, fire trails, picnic and camping areas, works depots, short stay and office accommodation.
This includes the ability to work within governance arrangements in established planning and delivery frameworks.

Essential Requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience along with strong organisational skills to plan, manage and deliver multiple projects on time and within resources.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of financial, governance and risk management standards and practices associated with project management.
