Cirka Catering is on the lookout for talented and experienced Chefs with aged care and major event experience. All applicants will have a current food handlers / cert 3 or 4, their own knives and well-kept uniforms, a driving licence is a plus.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Successful candidates must demonstrate the following:

Deliver and maintain standards with all food preparation and service.

Passionate about food & experience in aged care meals/major events

Competency in menu writing & creation.

Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene & food safety program requirements

Good knowledge of kitchen budgeting

To be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate that you have:

Completion of an apprenticeship or passed the appropriate trade test and experience in cooking

Good problem solving and decision-making skills, able to work autonomously.

Experienced leading teams, and able to adapt and change in a growing business environment and support others to achieve team and individual targets.

Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with online document management and auditing systems.

Understanding of budget management and cost control and knowledge of safe working processes and practices.
