In the role of Project Manager (Structures), you will project manage the delivery of Structures Maintenance Performance Contract (SMPC). You will undertake estimating, tendering and bid management activities, and provide operational management of structures servicing and inspection activities throughout the Brisbane Metropolitan District. You will manage complex structures related tasks and accountabilities such as scheduling, quality, environment, safety, traffic, procurement and other operational system during delivery of the project.
Accountabilities include:
• Use technical knowledge and leadership to plan and co-ordinate all resources and works necessary to ensure successful delivery of the SMPC project by achieving scope, time, quality, cost targets, utilising project management methodologies, corporate systems and tools.
• Manage and maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders including other road authorities, QR, suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Plan, allocate, supervise, and coordinate work activities of team members, including provision of employee performance and behaviour management principles and approaches.
• Actively undertake stewardship of the Metropolitan Structures asset portfolio using a risk based approach and to work with the client to maximise value for money programming decisions.
• Regularly measure completed works to monitor budget performance and submit progress payment claims at agreed interval for multiple and/or complex projects.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• You may be required to travel to other locations within Queensland to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
Desirable requirements:
• A Diploma in Project Management and accredited Frontline Management qualification.
• Demonstrated supervisory or management experience in the civil industry.
• Previous experience in the road construction or maintenance industry.
• Familiarity with structures management software BIS.
• Knowledge of the Structures Inspection Manual.
