Gawler River Produce is a family business with more than 35,000 acres of farming based in 3 areas across South Australia in Potatoes.

About Role:

The Company is looking for Horticulture Workers to join the operation at the Ward Belt SA area.

Specific Duties:

• Prepare growing conditions of the land for the plantings of seed potatoes.

• Undertake the planting of seed potatoes.

• Undertake irrigation and fertigation activities.

• Apply pest and weed control treatments to crops as required.

• Keep accurate records of soil, plant, treatment and crop yields.

• Use horticultural machinery and equipment for land preparation, planting, harvesting, processing, and packing of crops.

• Assist with the transport, logistics and delivery of sales stock to the pack house.

• Undertake washing and packing of the stock at the pack house.

• Reporting to senior management on a regular basis.

• Ensuring work progresses satisfactorily and in a timely fashion.

• Keeping an up-to date knowledge of growing techniques, diseases and pest.

• Conduct routine checks and maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Qualifications/Experience required:

• Relevant Horticulture qualification (preferred).

• At least 1-year relevant work experience.
