A rare opportunity to move into the role of Plant Inspector has opened up. The role would be ideal for someone who has worked with heavy construction equipment as a Trades Assistant or Operator OR would suit a mechanic who needs to get off the tools and into something else.

The Plant inspector is responsible for the inspection of plant and heavy machinery being off hired from the customer into Proquips' late model fleet.

This role is pivotal to ensuring that all equipment returned is meticulously inspected, all faults, repairs and damages are identified and itemised and, where needed, machinery is referred to our workshop for repairs and servicing before being delivered back into the fleet ready for on hire to our customers. The Plant Inspector will be responsible for categorising the equipment as either “Ready for Rent, or “Under Repair” and may perform minor repairs within their scope of ability where appropriate.

The ideal candidate may have a background in heavy machine operation, agriculture machinery, mechanical repairs, trades assisting or other experience which will demonstrate a strong technical/mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

About your skills and experience:

Previous experience or technical training in heavy equipment operation and maintenance .

Strong mechanical and technical skills with an understanding of heavy machinery.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.

Forklift License (preferred but not essential)

Strong commitment to safety around machinery and in a yard environment

Computer literacy

Unbeatable work ethic

Physically fit

Great communicator who is able to work independently and be part of a multi faceted team
