Lead a game-changing transformation in youth safety as the strategic force behind a newly created role
Your new company
This is your opportunity to join a values-driven, youth-focused organisation with a long-standing legacy of empowering young people through community, leadership, and adventure. With a strong presence across NSW and a passionate volunteer base, the organisation is entering a transformative phase-modernising its systems, refreshing its strategy, and investing in the people who will shape its future.
At the core of its mission is a commitment to creating safe, inclusive environments where young people can thrive. This role is central to that mission.
Your new role
This is a newly created, senior-level position designed for someone ready to lead change, drive impact, and build something meaningful from the ground up.
As the Conduct and Integrity Lead, you'll be entrusted with reimagining the organisation's safeguarding and member protection function. You'll take the reins at a time of strategic renewal, with the full support of executive leadership and the freedom to challenge legacy systems and introduce best-practice approaches.
Your role will span:
- Complex Case Management: From minor interpersonal issues to serious allegations, you'll oversee the triage, investigation, and resolution of conduct matters with professionalism and care.
- Regulatory Leadership: You'll ensure compliance with child protection laws and liaise with external bodies such as the Office of the Children's Guardian and the Department of Communities and Justice.
- Process Innovation: You'll streamline workflows, reduce volunteer burden, and bring clarity and structure to a function that's ready for reinvention.
- Strategic Influence: You'll help shape the future team structure, contributing to legal and governance, and broader compliance initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: You'll navigate complex relationships across a diverse volunteer network, balancing assertiveness with diplomacy to uphold procedural integrity.
This is a high-trust, high-impact role for someone who thrives on autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.
What you'll need to succeed
You're a confident, emotionally intelligent leader with a strong background in safeguarding, compliance, or conduct management. You're not just operational-you're strategic. You see the big picture, but you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.
You'll bring:
- Deep experience in child protection, complaints handling, or regulatory compliance
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, especially in volunteer-led or community-based settings
- A calm, professional approach to sensitive and high-stakes issues
- Legal qualifications or governance experience (highly desirable)
- A passion for leading change and building systems that last
- Flexibility to respond to after-hours or weekend matters when required
You might come from a school system, a church organisation, a youth-focused NGO, law enforcement, or a corporate compliance team-what matters most is your ability to lead with integrity and drive meaningful change.
What you'll get in return
- Competitive salary: up to $150-$160K base + 12% superannuation
- Hybrid working arrangements (up to 2 days/week from home)
- A career-defining opportunity to lead a transformational change
- Direct access to executive leadership and influence at board level
- A collaborative, values-driven culture
- The chance to shape a function that is central to the organisation's mission
