About CatholicCare NT and the Program
CatholicCare NT is a Catholic social service agency established in the Diocese of Darwin. We provide services throughout the NT, including service centres in Darwin, Palmerston, Malak, Tiwi Islands, Daly River, Wadeye, Jabiru, Maningrida, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Santa Teresa, Titjikala, Finke and APY lands.
The Education Engagement and Attainment Initiative (EEAI) is a community-driven strategy that empowers local people to support families in taking an active role in their children’s education. By fostering stronger family involvement, the initiative helps students reach their full potential and gain greater access to future opportunities.
The Community Development Program (CDP) offers intensive case management to support unemployed Aboriginal people. It creates employment pathways by helping participants build employability skills and attain meaningful qualifications through structured activities that enhance job readiness and increase employment prospects.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, the EEAI Coordinator is primarily responsible for leading the EEAI team to achieve program objectives, with a particular focus on aligning service delivery with the EEAI Operational Framework and Semester Activity Plan, and fostering collaboration among all key stakeholders.
The CDP Case Worker will work with job seekers to develop individual plans by identifying their employment goals and pathways. This includes addressing both vocational and non-vocational barriers and collaborating with relevant service providers and mentors to support ongoing activity engagement and prepare participants to be job-ready for future employment.
Please note: This position is located in the Santa Teresa Community approx. 85kms from Alice Springs and will require some travel to Alice Springs and other communities with basic accommodation provided. Applicants will be required to hold a valid full NT Driver Licence.
What we are looking for
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including case note and report writing, and the ability to communicate with providers across a range of diverse cultural groups.
- Demonstrated ability in providing quality case management, tailored assistance, addressing job seeker barriers and preparing them to be job ready.
- Experience providing strong leadership, mentoring and supervision to staff.
- Agile and resilient with the ability to work through challenges.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.
