Continuing, full-time position available

The HSW Officer will undertake HSW activities to assist the HSW Advisory team deliver a service that supports the University HSW framework to meet legislative responsibilities and Self-Insurance Performance Standards.

The HSW Officer will be part of a team of safety professionals that assists with the development of strategies to prevent illness/injury and reduce risk; monitor HSW performance; and provide effective HSW support to a diverse research intensive community.

To be successful you will need:

  • Sound knowledge of relevant WHS Legislation, safety management systems and hazard management approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing management to effect, positive HSW outcomes across a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare quality HSW-related material and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
