Are you passionate about teaching swimming and water safety? We’re looking for enthusiastic and engaging Swim Teachers to join our Learn to Swim team across the City of Greater Geelong’s premier aquatic facilities, including Splashdown, Leisurelink, Norlane ARC and Bellarine Aquatic and Sports Centre.
Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced instructor, this is your chance to inspire confidence in the water, help develop lifelong skills, and be part of a fun and supportive team.
About the role
As a Leisure Services Officer – Learn to Swim, you'll:
- Deliver engaging, safe and inclusive swim lessons to people of all ages and abilities
- Assess student progress and adapt lessons to meet individual needs
- Build positive relationships with students and their families
- Promote water safety and enjoyment in line with industry guidelines
- Liaise with the Learn to Swim Officer and Centre Coordinators to ensure smooth delivery of programs
You may also assist with class organisation, lane allocation, equipment setup, and general program support.
This role will be guided by Royal Life Society Australia (RLSSA) Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations, City of Greater Geelong and Swim Sport and Leisure policy and procedures.
Work type: Casual
Classification: Band 2 Commencing at $43.05 p/h
About you
You’re someone who:
- Has a warm, encouraging teaching style
- Can communicate clearly with children, families, and colleagues
- Understands child safety and inclusive education practices
- Works well as part of a team and enjoys a busy, active environment
- Has the flexibility to work across our various Leisure Centres
- Availability for morning, evening and weekend shifts
Essential Experience:
- A current Working with Children Check
- A current CPR Certificate
- A Swim Teaching License
- Relevant extension courses (Infant, Access & Inclusion, etc.) are a bonus!
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
