St John of God Langmore Centre is a newly refurbished 60-bed private mental health hospital in Berwick providing a supportive, respectful and relaxed environment that promotes wellbeing and recovery. Our multidisciplinary team provide expert psychiatric care and treatment for conditions including depression, mood disorders, anxiety and psychosis through programs tailored to meet your patient's individual needs, including inpatient and day programs.
Your role at St John of God Langmore Centre
We are seeking a dedicated Exercise Physiologist (Grade 1 or 2) with experience in a mental health setting. You will demonstrate strong group facilitation skills, deliver psychoeducation, and lead movement-based programs such as supervised exercise, circuit training, and yoga. A team-oriented and recovery-focused approach is essential.
The Exercise Physiologist works alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical exercise physiology services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills.
The Position
- Demonstrated ability to prescribe, deliver and supervise individual and group remedial and maintenance exercise programs for patients attending the service, including but not limited to gym and/or hydrotherapy.
- Contributes to the delivery of high quality, compassionate, safe clinical services within a range of settings i.e. Inpatient, Outpatient, or home/community-based settings.
- Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
- Develop appropriate treatment goals and plans for all patients/clients in collaboration with other team members.
- Provides a senior level of clinical care to deliver high quality, compassionate, competent clinical services within a range of settings, i.e. inpatient, outpatient, or home/community based services.
- Prescribes, delivers and supervises individual, group remedial, and maintenance exercise programs for patients at an advanced level attending the service, including but not limited to gym and hydrotherapy.
- Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
- Patients' rehabilitation plans and outcomes are regularly monitored through attendance at and participation in clinical team meetings as required.
- Active participation in the multidisciplinary team.
- Referrals to external agencies are initiated in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates consolidated, current knowledge of research, evidence-based practice in Exercise Physiology and related clinical areas.
You will have tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science or similar and be eligible for accreditation with the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). You will be eligible for Medicare Provider number and ideally have clinical experience in the areas of rehabilitation and mental health.
To succeed you will have experience in assessment, exercise prescription, monitoring and progressions for special population using evidence-based practices in therapy (e.g. Musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiac and metabolic conditions). A current drivers licence is required.
Grade 2 Exercise Physiologists will demonstrate senior clinical experience and leadership in a specialised area of clinical practice within a healthcare or disability services setting.

- Grade 1 Salary: $70,866 to $97,980 (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation (G
- Grade 2 Salary: $95,432 to $114,129 (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent part time role, working up to 45 hours a fortnight.
