South Metropolitan TAFE is seeking a dynamic and creative educator to join our Fashion and Textiles team—someone who is ready to share their industry knowledge with tomorrow’s fashion innovators.
You will have recent, hands-on experience in garment construction, pattern making, fashion design, pattern and design technology or textile technology, and a deep understanding of the evolving fashion landscape. We're looking for someone who understands that the future of fashion is not just about creativity—it's about technology, precision, and innovation.
Applications are encouraged from people interested in full-time or part-time fixed term appointments, permanent employment and casual hours.
Suitable applicants will be placed in the appointment pool from which opportunities may be offered as vacancies arise up to 24 months from the first appointment.
About the role
The lecturer's primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD).
In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum Diploma of Fashion (or equivalent). The successful applicant will also have at least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning.
