The Role

This is a hands-on role for a technically strong Data Engineer who can design, develop, and manage scalable data solutions across AWS and Azure. You will contribute across the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation through to analytics enablement—while also supporting the migration of legacy systems to modern cloud environments.

The ideal candidate is proactive, delivery-focused, and passionate about building long-term capability in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage data pipelines in AWS
• Implement data migration strategies from legacy to cloud systems (AWS & Azure)
• Build ETL/ELT processes and ensure data quality and validation
• Optimise cloud-based storage and data integration workflows
• Work closely with analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to meet data needs
• Troubleshoot data issues and improve system performance
• Stay current with emerging tools and best practices in cloud data engineering

You

• 5+ years in data engineering, including pipeline development and data warehousing
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda)
• Familiarity with Azure data services (Data Lake, Synapse, SQL DB)
• Proficient in Python, Java, or Scala and frameworks like Spark
• Skilled in SQL and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices a plus
• AWS or Azure certifications highly regarded
• A proactive mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
