Senior Marketing Cloud Project Officer
Location: ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA
Start Date: August 2025
Contract Term: Initial 12-month contract with a 12-month extension option
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline security clearance
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum three days in the office, two days flexible, in line with agency policy)
Citizenship Requirement: Australian Citizens only
We are currently seeking a Senior Marketing Cloud Project Officer to join a major digital uplift program with one of our high-profile federal government clients. This role will play a critical function in supporting marketing automation capability through Salesforce Marketing Cloud and will sit within a broader ICT transformation environment focused on improving accessibility, automation, and end-user experience.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced Marketing Cloud Administrator with proven capability across marketing automation workflows, CRM integration, and campaign delivery at scale. The role offers meaningful contribution to a program with strong public impact, within a collaborative and forward-thinking government agency.
Position Overview As the Senior Marketing Cloud Project Officer, you will take ownership of the design, execution, and optimisation of digital communication workflows across Salesforce Marketing Cloud. You will ensure seamless integration with Sales and Service Cloud platforms and support internal stakeholders across marketing, digital, and service delivery teams.
Working as part of a highly skilled team, your focus will be on improving data-driven marketing capability, enhancing the efficiency of communication delivery, and ensuring consistent, accessible user engagement across multiple digital channels.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration, performance, and technical integrity of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform
  • Build and execute complex email campaigns, including customer segmentation, dynamic content configuration, A/B testing, and journey builder workflows
  • Develop, maintain and optimise data extensions, contact models, subscriber lists, and automation scripts
  • Ensure marketing automation strategies align with organisational objectives and CRM architecture
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance metrics, generating insights to inform improvements
  • Troubleshoot user issues, provide technical support, and deliver training to internal teams as needed
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, processes and support procedures
  • Assist in the continual improvement of the agency’s marketing automation maturity and digital capability
  • Support the integration between Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Sales/Service Cloud, ensuring data integrity and synchronisation
  • Stay informed on platform updates and advise on implementation of new features and functionalities

Essential Criteria

  • 2–3 years’ demonstrated experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud administration and implementation in a complex environment
  • Proficiency in email marketing operations, automation workflows, data cleansing and contact model design
  • Hands-on experience with SQL queries, AMPscript and front-end tools such as HTML/CSS
  • Strong knowledge of CRM environments, with a focus on Salesforce Sales and Service Cloud architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse digital marketing performance and apply data insights to enhance outcomes
  • Active Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator Certification

Desirable Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Information Technology, Business or a related discipline
  • Additional Salesforce certifications such as Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant or Marketing Cloud Architect
  • Experience integrating third-party or external data sources into Marketing Cloud environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document workflows, engage technical and non-technical audiences, and liaise with executive stakeholders
  • Understanding of privacy, compliance and accessibility requirements in government communication systems

  • Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain Baseline security clearance
  • The successful candidate is expected to commence from Monday, 11 August 2025
