About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR / WHS Officer to support the strategic and operational management of human resources and workplace safety functions. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for people, culture, and compliance to make a meaningful impact in aged care.
You will work closely with the Facility Manager and Department Heads to ensure we maintain a safe, supportive, and compliant workplace aligned with aged care standards, Fair Work legislation, and Work Health & Safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources:
End-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and staff induction
Maintain employee records and HRIS systems
Support performance management, employee relations, and investigations
Assist in the Coordinate training and development programs
Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and Fair Work obligations
Assist with rostering systems, payroll queries, and HR reporting
Workplace Health & Safety:
Oversee WHS policies and procedures
Conduct and document risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits
Chair or support the WHS Committee and facilitate regular meetings
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WHS legislation and implement improvements
Monitor return-to-work processes and liaise with external providers
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, WHS, Business, or equivalent OR significant relevant experience
Knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Aged Care Standards, and WHS legislation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build trust and rapport across a multidisciplinary team
High level of organisation, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Previous experience in aged care, healthcare or not-for-profit sectors is highly regarded
Current NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
