About the role

As a Medical Scientist, you will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, multi-disciplinary pathology service within a regional laboratory setting. You will apply your scientific and technical expertise to perform a variety of routine diagnostic procedures, supporting timely and accurate clinical decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad scope of testing disciplines in a collaborative environment that values precision, reliability, and service excellence.

Working under supervision, you will also participate in problem-solving, analysis, and reporting, while contributing to the evaluation and implementation of new techniques and methodologies. This is a valuable opportunity for a motivated scientist to expand their practical skills and grow within a supportive team committed to continual improvement and patient-centred care.

About You

You are a qualified and motivated individual with a strong foundation in pathology and a commitment to high-quality laboratory practice. You bring initiative, technical proficiency, and a collaborative mindset to your work, contributing to the consistent delivery of accurate and timely diagnostic testing in a clinical environment.

Hold a relevant AQF Level 7 pathology-related degree (domestic or assessed equivalent international qualification), or eligible historic associate qualification.

Demonstrated ability to perform and troubleshoot laboratory tests, manage time effectively, and follow standard procedures with limited supervision.

Strong communication skills with a customer service focus, and the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Proficient in software applications and laboratory equipment maintenance, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
