About the role

Experience in specimen collection, medical terminology or data entry is preferred, but not essential as on the job training will be provided. Minimal shift work required.
As an Operational Services Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the laboratory through a range of practical and essential duties. Working under general direction, you will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of pathology services by performing tasks such as venepuncture, specimen collection, sorting and accessioning samples, and accurate data entry. Your attention to detail and ability to follow set protocols will ensure the timely and safe handling of specimens for testing.
You will also be responsible for managing internal and external customer enquiries in a professional and courteous manner. This position offers a dynamic working environment where your contribution directly supports patient care and clinical outcomes. About You
You are a dependable and detail-focused professional with experience in pathology laboratory operations. You work well both independently and within a team, maintaining high standards under pressure while delivering excellent customer service and accurate data handling.
Proven ability to manage workloads independently, maintain accuracy, meet deadlines, and escalate issues appropriately.
Experienced in pathology laboratory settings, with knowledge of laboratory procedures, systems, and customer service protocols.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, clients, and external stakeholders.
Proficient in using computers, databases, and relevant laboratory information systems.
