$30 to $35 per hour, plus super

The Rostrata Primary School P&C are seeking an enthusiastic Canteen Supervisor with strong organisational, customer service and food service skills to manage and oversee the daily operation of our school canteen.

Rostrata Primary School is an Independent Public School in Willetton, with a strong school ethos embodied in our school motto of C.A.R.E.

Our busy canteen is open 5 days per week catering to staff and over 900 students.

Responsibilities of the role:

· Lead, plan, organise and control the day-to-day operations of the canteen including cooking and food preparation, ordering of stock and equipment and balance daily takings

· Manage and encourage volunteers to help with the daily running of the canteen

· Establish and maintain an effective, committed workplace team.

· Have basic administrative computer skills with an ability to learn new software

· Provide all financial documentation to the P&C Treasurer in a timely manner

· Completed or willing to complete the Traffic Light system training

· Provide creative input and prepare the menu

· Ensuring the canteen is kept clean and well maintained to industry standard

· Sound knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health principles in relation to manual handling and work safe practices, with a commitment to applying them

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to students, staff and suppliers

· Ability to adjust to priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner

· Ability to work effectively as a team player or autonomously

· Establish and document process and procedures as required

· Perform other duties as assigned by the P&C

Desired skills and experience

· Demonstrated skills and experience in the management of a school/college canteen, commercial or similar service environment.

· Demonstrated well developed organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver a high standard of food service.

· Demonstrated skills and experience in coordinating and supervising staff

· A pleasant and positive attitude and ability to form positive relationships with all staff, students and suppliers

· Demonstrated well developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external clients.

Required (willing to obtain before start)

· Current Working with Children Check

· Current Police Clearance

· Current Food Safe online safety training provided free of charge by City of Canning
