The opportunity
A rewarding opportunity is currently available for a Physiotherapist to join the team, consolidating and implementing your therapy skills across a broad spectrum of neurological clinical areas. The position is full-time.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to use your unique set of skills, and knowledge base as a therapist, in a busy, dynamic learning environment, across a wide range of neurological clinical areas.
Work alongside and absorb knowledge, formally and informally, from your new colleagues. Steps has highly experienced therapists who work in complex wheelchair prescription; gait and running re-training; complete and in-complete spinal cord injury; mild, moderate and severe TBI presentations; management of progressive neurological disorders; electrical stimulation; vestibular rehabilitation; management of complex neurological upper limb presentations and more.
Steps also runs a quality improvement service that ensures all current evidence and new and emerging technology are adopted appropriately in our workplace. At the moment we are working on implementation virtual reality technology into our everyday clinical practice; fabrication of upper limb splints including custom push mitts for active wheelchair users; ABI running groups and the list goes on. Steps is committed to continuing to explore new ways we can build on our client experience, and get better outcomes.

Responsibilities
Independently manage a caseload of ABI, TBI, SCI, neuromuscular disorders, and other neurological presentations
Work closely with clients, their families, and other community allied health professionals
Work both in a clinic environment (with fully equipped neurological equipment) and in the community setting (including clients homes as well as community facilities)
Implement best practice
Goal planning and outcome measurement
Complete therapy and equipment funding applications and other relevant paperwork where applicable
Participate in in-house and external professional development
Prescribe specialised therapy equipment
Requirements
Current unrestricted working rights
Valid AHPRA registration
Drivers licence and access to a car if the company cars are not available
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with neurological caseloads
Supportive mindset
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
