About the Role
The Centre is inviting applications from motivated and enthusiastic applicants for an Early Childhood (Pre-primary) Teacher role full time position to work with children 6 months to 5 years of age. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills and classroom experience. The role may also suit recent graduates with a mature approach who want to work collaboratively with other passionate educators and be part of a team culture striving for excellence. Having a happy and effective team environment is very important to the team, looking at each individual’s experiences, preference, personal contribution and areas to strengthen.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, structure, and facilitate engaging learning experiences in both indoor and outdoor settings, utilising a diverse range of materials and equipment to support holistic development in young children.
Contribute to, develop, and deliver an emergent curriculum within a care and education model that emphasises secure attachments and enriched caregiving, in accordance with the Victorian and National Early Years Learning and Development Frameworks.
Provide a variety of intentional experiences and activities aimed at fostering children’s physical (fine and gross motor), cognitive, social, emotional, language, literacy, and numeracy skills, as well as confidence and a sense of belonging.
Encourage language development and communication skills through storytelling, dramatic play, songs, rhymes, and both informal and structured group discussions.
Observe, assess, and document children’s learning, progress, and wellbeing, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in individual portfolios and using this information to inform future planning.
Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with families, sharing information about children’s progress and collaborating to support each child’s learning and development.
Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that respects and celebrates diversity, ensuring all children feel valued and supported.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs, and participate in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
Guide children’s behaviour using positive, developmentally appropriate strategies that foster self-regulation and social competence.
Promote and model healthy practices, including hygiene, nutrition, and physical activity, and respond appropriately to children’s individual health and wellbeing needs.

You will:
Hold an ACECQA approved bachelor or graduate diploma in early childhood teaching with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Be passionate about teaching children and committed to providing high quality Early Childhood Education and Care and discussing student progress with parents
Have an ability to form strong professional relationships with colleagues, children and parents and participate in community and family support programs as appropriate
Attend parent interviews and staff meetings
Be a great team player, flexible in your approach to each day and be positive and open-minded observing nutritional health, welfare and safety needs of students
Checks
Valid Working with Children Check, National Criminal history records check (Police Check), First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and First Aid training are required in line with our commitment to being a child safe organisation.

Training
You will also need to attend online training for Early Childhood Protecting Children - Mandatory reporting and child protection for early childhood sector, and have a Food Safety certificate'
