About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker with Leap, you’ll provide person-centered care to individuals with a range of disabilities – including those with complex needs and behaviours of concern. This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract with permanent part-time hours, and involves all aspects of shift work:

Day shifts

Afternoon shifts

Weekends

Sleepovers and active overnight shifts

Immediate start available for the right candidates. You must be flexible and available to work across the North-West Coast, from Wynyard to Latrobe.

Please do not apply if you are unable to commit to shift work, including sleepovers and active nights or have travel restrictions.

Key Responsibilities

Support participants with personal care, manual handling, and daily living activities

Administer medication (must be medication endorsed)

Provide emotional support and manage challenging behaviours calmly and professionally

Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively

Encourage independence and community involvement

Essential Requirements

· Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, or similar

· Medication endorsed

· Experience in disability support work (minimum 2 years)

· Availability for all shift types, including weekends, sleepovers, and active nights

· Valid Driver’s License and reliable transport

· Current NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Vulnerable People Check

· Current First Aid & CPR Certificate

Manual Handling training

Behaviour support or trauma-informed care experience
