6-Month Government Contract | Sydney or Canberra | NV1 Required (or Baseline with Upgrade)

About the Role
Our federal government client is seeking a highly skilled ForgeRock Software Engineer to support a major transformation initiative focused on secure identity and access management (IDAM). This role is hands-on and technical, embedded within a secure environment, and contributes directly to improving national digital identity capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement solutions using ForgeRock AM and IDM
• Support the rollout of a new user registration capability
• Work collaboratively with internal subject matter experts to configure ForgeRock components and ensure performance and stability
• Build, maintain and secure IAM frameworks, protocols, authentication, and access control systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex identity and access management issues
• Embed security at all layers of system architecture

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 2 years’ direct experience with the ForgeRock Identity Platform (AM and IDM)
• Proven experience in a secure government or similar environment
• Strong working knowledge of IAM practices, standards, protocols, and tools
• Demonstrated experience deploying and maintaining ForgeRock solutions in secure, high-availability settings
• Must hold NV1 clearance or Baseline clearance with ability to upgrade to NV1
• Must be an Australian citizen

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with DevOps and identity automation tools
• Ability to assess and adapt IDAM systems to address evolving threat landscapes
• Strong team collaboration skills, including cross-functional project work

Work Location and Arrangement

• Candidates must be based in Sydney or Canberra
• Hybrid model: minimum two days per week in-office, with remaining days working from home
• Candidates outside these locations or seeking remote-only arrangements will not be considered

Contract Details

• Start date: Mid-July
• Initial term: 6 months
• Full-time: up to 40 hours per week
• Hourly rate: $140 per hour (inclusive of superannuation)
