About Us

Court Services Victoria (CSV) provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and dynamic Strategic People Partner at the Coroners Court of Victoria.

The Coroners Court plays a vital role in improving the health and safety of the Victorian community by independently investigating deaths and fires and contributing to the prevention of unnecessary deaths. Court employees have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the community through their dedication to care and respect for families experiencing loss, and commitment to justice and safety.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR generalist looking to drive strategic HR initiatives in an environment where you can make a real difference in an inclusive workplace. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative People Partnering team of high calibre HR professionals that value innovation and work collaboratively to share ideas and resources.

As the Strategic People Partner, you will deliver business-driven solutions across the entire employee lifecycle in relation to organisational development, workforce planning, health and safety, wellbeing, leadership development, and employee engagement. You will be the HR lead within the Coroners Court and act as the trusted HR advisor to the CEO and establish collegiate partnerships with the broader executive leadership team. As an experienced HR leader, you will build productive relationships with managers, staff and coroners across the court to provide coaching and guidance on HR matters including employee relations matters, performance management, talent acquisition planning, and health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.

You will be supported by subject matter experts across the People Services function who will partner with you to align people programs and initiatives with organisational priorities. You will also have the opportunity to draw on your expertise to design and tailor projects that align to the specific needs of the Coroners Court.

About you

This role will suit an experienced HR leader with expertise across multiple areas of the employee lifecycle. We are looking for an innovative and creative leader who enjoys identifying trends and providing data-driven insights to influence executive decision-making and workforce planning. You will have a passion for continuous improvement and a high degree of emotional intelligence.

Our ideal candidate will have exposure to environments where vicarious trauma and psychosocial hazards are a routine part of the workplace. This includes experience in identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to vicarious trauma and psychosocial hazards in the workplace, implementing effective strategies to support staff wellbeing and maintaining a safe, resilient work environment.

Tertiary qualifications in human resources, psychology, business, or related fields are highly desirable.

If you are a team player looking for a collaborative environment in which to grow your HR career, then we want to hear from you.

Duties

  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to align people strategies and programs with organisational goals.
  • Set the people agenda and lead the implementation and delivery of people strategies and programs across the employee lifecycle.
  • Collaborate across the CSV People Services team to contribute to the design and development of people strategies, programs and policies to align with the needs of the court.
  • Proactively draw on data and evidence from a range of sources to identify trends, monitor and evaluate key programs, and provide insights that inform executive decision-making.
