- Permanent Full-Time – 38 hours per week
- Attractive salary ranging from $1,121.45 up to $1,286.40

Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Plant Operator (Street Sweeper) within the Infrastructure department. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Moree. As a Plant Operator (Street Sweeper), you will be responsible for operating and maintaining street sweeping equipment to ensure clean and safe roadways within the Moree area. Your main tasks will include:
- Operating street sweeping machinery to effectively clean roads, footpaths, and public areas
- Conducting routine inspections and maintenance of street sweeping equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines while performing street sweeping duties
- Collaborating with team members to coordinate street sweeping schedules and routes
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements to the appropriate supervisor
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and reporting any issues or incidents as necessary
The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A valid driver's licence and experience in operating street sweeping or similar machinery will be advantageous. The ideal candidate would have:
- Horticultural knowledge or experience, together with experience in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Relevant work experience in a labouring environment or certificate of completion for structured training program in work related area.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, prioritise and meet production deadlines within an environment with minimal supervision and work within a team.
- Willingness to work a rotating roster which involves weekend, early morning and late evening shifts and public holidays.
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to keep accurate records including, timesheets, daily running sheets & fuel usage records

- General Construction Induction Card
- Current Class HR Drivers Licence
Immunisations required:
- Ability to provide evidence of vaccination/immunisation for Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B and maintain currency of this throughout your period of employment.
