TRADE ASSISTANTS + MECHANICAL FITTERS

Our client is a diversified global supplier of software, engineered products, services and automated manufacturing equipment to the building industry. Known for having an extensive range of world's best machinery that includes some of the most versatile and reliable pieces of automated prefabricated equipment on the market. The Role:

• Assist qualified Fitters and Technicians in the maintenance, assembly, and repair of automated manufacturing equipment and machinery
• Perform general workshop duties including cleaning, organising tools, and preparing materials for fabrication or repair
• Carry out basic fitting and welding tasks under supervision, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, assembly techniques, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Support mechanical installation and commissioning of new heavy machinery as required
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Assist in the transport and positioning of heavy machinery components using lifting equipment: Forklift & Elevated Work Platforms.
• Follow instructions from senior tradespeople and work as part of a collaborative team
• Adhere to company core values and contribute positively to a strong safety and workplace culture

Criteria:

• White Card
• Basic Welding qualifications or past experience (Advantage)
• High Risk Work License: LF + EWP (Desirable)
• Working at Heights and Confined Spaces tickets
• Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (Advantage)
• Minimum 6 months previous experience in similar industry handling Heavy Machinery
• Current Valid Driving licence
• National Police Clearance & ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol
