What is the Aboriginal Health Promotion Officer role?
This position collaborates with local government, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, community organisations, communities and health professionals to enhance their ability to plan, implement and evaluate culturally sensitive health promotion projects and initiatives. The officer ensures these projects are based on community needs and align with health promotion priorities, Aboriginal health and wellbeing priorities, cultural determinants of health and other health promotion principles.
The Health Promotion Service works across the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) catchment area and aims to improve the health of the population by preventing chronic disease and injury.
