Adecco is recruiting on behalf of our client, a nationally renowned facilities management company, for an experienced Maintenance Specialist to support the day-to-day maintenance operations at a high-performing distribution centre. Our client partners with some of the most recognisable names in Australia, delivering essential maintenance services across large commercial and logistics environments. Due to continued growth and ongoing service demand, they are now seeking a confident and capable Maintenance Specialist with a carpentry background to join their site team.

The Role

Working closely with the on-site Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for delivering reactive and preventative maintenance services within a Distribution Centre. This hands-on role will see you carrying out general building maintenance and repair works, ensuring a safe and operational site for all stakeholders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Perform general maintenance, repair, and trade-based tasks across the distribution facility.

Carry out preventative maintenance and ensure work is completed to the required quality standards.

Identify and action building fabric issues, ensuring a safe and compliant environment.

Communicate effectively with contractors, technicians, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations.

Use company systems to manage maintenance tasks, escalate urgent issues, and log work completed.

Adhere to OH&S policies and take proactive steps to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance documentation as required.

About You
You’re a hands-on maintenance professional who brings confidence, strong communication skills, and trade know-how. You enjoy working autonomously, can prioritise tasks on-site, and take pride in delivering high-quality work. You will bring:

A carpentry background with strong experience in commercial maintenance (e.g. shopping centres, supermarkets, hospitals, or industrial facilities).

Experience in building fabric repairs and general handyman services.

Confidence working independently on large commercial sites.

Ability to operate tools and machinery safely and effectively.

Current driver’s licence (essential).

Strong OH&S awareness and a proactive safety mindset.
