Are you passionate about shaping the future of community infrastructure? We’re looking for a Senior Buildings & Facilities Strategic Planner to lead the strategic development of capital projects that will serve our growing team and evolving community needs.
As a senior member of our team, you will:
- Lead the procurement and coordination of consultancy services for planning and design phases of capital projects.
- Develop and refine strategic, network, and master plans for Council-owned land and assets.
- Conduct critical analysis of planning documents to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Contribute to the development of annual capital and operational programs.
- Drive strategic initiatives in conservation, disaster resilience, Smart City integration, and technical standards.
- Identify and secure external funding opportunities to enhance project budgets.
- Maintain clear communication and technical oversight across planning engagements.
- Support capital works submissions and collaborate with executive leadership.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-focused team culture.

About you
We are seeking someone who is a strategic thinker with a passion for shaping the built environment to meet future community needs. With a strong background in architecture, engineering, urban planning, or project management, you bring deep technical expertise and a proactive approach to complex planning challenges.
- Proven expertise in project management and strategic facilities planning.
- Strong analytical and research skills with proficiency in data tools and reporting.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and standards.
- Excellent time management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- High-level strategic and technical advisory experience.
You will have a degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Consultancy, Urban Planning, Project Management or other relevant field with extensive work experience and a current “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
