Australia's first Avani hotel offering 180 rooms will be opening early 2026 on the Sunshine Coast and needs an industry disruptor. We want someone with serious bar and restaurant credentials, fired up to develop and lead a fresh and bold hotel experience.

ABOUT AVANI MOOLOOLABA BEACH HOTEL

The Avani Mooloolaba Beach will transform how travellers experience Mooloolaba. Positioned just 100 metres from its pristine beach, the hotel sits where surf breaks meet the buzzing esplanade. The design will seamlessly blend contemporary with coastal, the perfect backdrop for a beach escape with a side of adventure.

The property will cover all bases with AvaniSpa treatments and AvaniFit facilities for wellness seekers, and a sleek facility dedicated to conferencing, weddings and events. The bar and restaurant offering will be, however, where this hotel really breaks the mould. The showstopper two-level rooftop will let guests float in the pool above, then enjoy dining with panoramic ocean views below. Combined with the sophisticated cellar, wine and cheese bar on level one, a vibrant lobby bar, and unique boat charter experiences with onboard catering, the property will redefine Queensland coastal dining experiences.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will be leading from the front by setting high standards, ensuring the smooth operation of all moving parts. You will oversee revenue growth, staff development, the day-to-day running and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences across the Avani Hotel and all of its separate food and beverage brands.

We're looking for a leader who thinks beyond traditional hotel management, someone who sees opportunity in unexpected places and isn't afraid to experiment with fresh approaches. Whether it's curating unique local partnerships, reimagining traditional hotel offerings, or creating memorable experiences that diners can't find anywhere else, you'll need to bring creativity and commercial acumen in equal measure.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

· 10+ years hospitality experience in a contemporary and industry-leading venue group – we welcome hospitality professionals with a unique background and strong restaurant and bar credentials

· Strong commercial instincts with ability to maximise revenue while maintaining service standards

· Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, contract negotiation, and leading the development of SOPs that enhance performance

· Demonstrated ability to operate within matrix organisations and leverage centralised resources effectively

· Creative problem-solving approach with experience in innovative guest experience design

· Track record of evaluating business trends, identifying risks, and successfully implementing new strategies that drive multi-unit performance

· Exceptional relationship-building abilities across all stakeholder levels, including creating positive community outreach

· Genuine passion for continuous improvement and staying ahead of hospitality trends
