Support Workers – Home and Community - Multiple opportunities available

We are excited to offer multiple positions supporting participants with a diverse range of support needs including high care requirements across the Mid North Coast in the following locations:

Wauchope and West of Wauchope (rural), Port Macquarie, Lake Cathie and Laurieton.

Roles exist for:

Enthusiastic, motivated, and respectful qualified disability support workers & mental health workers who have experience working with people in a residential & community setting including providing over-night support. Your experience dealing with: - Parkinson's, MSA, Physical disabilities, MH, addictions, ADHD, autism, and complex behaviours will be highly regarded.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supporting clients to improve their independence pursue their goals and interests.

Residential support including personal & domestic assistance, meal prep, companionship, manual handling, medication administration and overnight support (as required).

Social and recreational support to attend appointments NB: this includes driving the supported person in your car (travel reimbursed)

Developing and maintaining professional relationships with participants, families, caregivers, and key stakeholders.

High care support roles West of Wauchope (Rural), Port Macquarie and Lake Cathie require, evening and sleep over support. Support is for male & female participants.

Support participants to build capacity.

Key Selection Criteria – Qualifications and requirements

Qualification in Disability, Mental Health, Allied Health or working towards completion (a certificate and transcript must be provided)

Experience supporting clients with diverse diagnosis, highly regarded Parkinson's, MSA, Physical disabilities, MH, addictions, ADHD and autism.

A valid criminal records check (issued within the last 3 months)

Current First Aid Certificate incl. CPR

A current driver’s licence with access to a reliable & insured motor vehicle.

A desire to support & contribute to the team

Understanding of safe work practices

Ability to work independently, maintaining the privacy/confidentiality of our clients

Availability to work across a 7day roster.

Roles at Port Macquarie, Lake Cathie and West of Wauchope require, evening and sleepover shifts

For rural roles a 4WD MV would be advantageous
