- TRP from $223k to $247k including superannuation, commensurate with experience
Value NSW (VNSW) is a delivery focused organisation dedicated to providing excellence in economic, property and valuation services and advice to Government and the Valuer General. We are currently seeking an experienced valuation professional to join our leadership team as the Director Rating and Taxing Valuations, In-House Valuations.
As the Director, you’ll:
- establish and lead a high-performing team of valuers responsible for delivering statutory land valuations across NSW under the Valuation of Land Act 1916
- oversee the delivery of high-quality valuations ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements and alignment with key performance indicators
- manage the end-to-end delivery of the annual mass valuation program within your assigned areas and delegation.
You’ll also provide strategic advice and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and, where required, the Valuer General as well as lead stakeholder engagement in your assigned areas, ensuring the delivery of expert valuation services. As a senior leader within Value NSW, you will contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives, helping shape the future of valuation services across the state.

About You
You are a highly experienced valuation professional with specialist expertise across all property types and a deep understanding of relevant legislation and case law coupled with experience in delivering positive valuation results in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
You’ve got superior knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1916, statutory interpretation, and legal frameworks within the rating and taxing valuation space and deliver technically sound and defensible valuations.
You like leading large delivery teams and are an experienced people leader with a proven track record in managing complex programs.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in the MVOW mass valuation software.
- Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in law, property, valuation or other relevant areas.
- Associate Membership of the Australian Property Institute with Certified Practicing Valuer designation or equivalent professional membership through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or similar.
About Us
The Valuer General is an independent statutory officer, appointed by the Governor of New South Wales to oversee the State's land valuation system.
Value NSW provides services to, supports, and where appropriately delegated, delivers relevant functions on behalf of the Valuer General of NSW. This includes:
- Defining and setting the standards and policies for the land valuation system for rating and taxing purposes along with the determination of compensation through the compulsory acquisition process to ensure integrity within the NSW Government is upheld.
- Monitoring, quality assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
- Providing other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations as/when required for other cluster or statewide government partners; and
- Providing professional leadership and stewardship to the valuation industry.
