The Opportunity
This is a commercially focused leadership role with broad scope and impact. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio that includes agri-retail stores, grain mills, and the commodity and animal nutrition trading arms of the business.
The role can be based from either Toowoomba or the Gold Coast, with regular travel required to operational sites across Queensland and northern New South Wales.
You’ll drive strategic and operational performance across all categories, delivering on profitability targets, improving operational efficiency, developing pricing and procurement strategies, and ensuring alignment between internal teams and external stakeholders. You’ll also play a key role in enhancing the company’s value proposition to farmers and customers, while ensuring reliable supply chains and regulatory compliance.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead category performance across animal nutrition, feed, grain, fertiliser and crop inputs
- Manage multi-site operational teams and trading staff to deliver production, sourcing and retail excellence
- Build strong supplier and stakeholder relationships to ensure reliable, cost-effective supply
- Analyse customer demand, sales data, and market trends to inform commercial strategy
- Develop pricing, promotional and procurement strategies that maximise margin and competitiveness
- Drive improvements across quality assurance, compliance, and risk management
- Collaborate with store managers and frontline teams to execute category plans and customer engagement
- Report on KPIs and financials, delivering insights that support decision-making and growth
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a commercially savvy leader who thrives in fast-paced, regional and operational environments. You enjoy balancing strategy with execution, and have experience working across the full spectrum of a rural or agribusiness operation — from sourcing and pricing to stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
You’ll Bring:
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar leadership role across agribusiness, commodities, animal health or rural retail
- Strong commercial acumen with a background in budgeting, P&L and driving financial performance
- Experience in grain procurement, animal nutrition or agricultural supply chains highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across sites and functions
- Excellent stakeholder, negotiation and supplier management skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Commerce or related fields preferred
