The Role

We are seeking an ambitious 4+ year Senior Lawyer with a solid track record in Family Law to join our growing close knit team.

The successful applicant will assist the Principal with more complex files while also having carriage of their own matters. You will be encouraged to work autonomously but have access to guidance and support from other senior team members to ensure you continue to develop.

The successful applicant must have a minimum 3+ years post qualification experience in Family law and be capable of independently managing a file from end to end (with appropriate supervision and guidance as per their level of experience).

Acting and advising clients on separation and divorce, urgent recovery applications, mediation, collaborative practice and a wide range of complex property and parenting matters, the role will suit someone who can hit the ground running.

We promote working flexibly and remotely and our team has thrived in this culture. We currently have a hybrid work model, working from the office 2-3 days a week based on client, Court and team commitments.

Remuneration and performance targets will be aligned with your level of experience and responsibility.

Experience You Will Bring

Experience taking initial instructions from clients in conference

Ability to draft more complex Court documents such as Orders, balance sheets, affidavits, financial statements, day to day correspondence and advice

Confident appearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia on mentions and instructing counsel at Interim Hearings

Impeccable client file and diary management and attention to detail

Ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines

Desire to develop professional networks

Wanting to step up and take on more responsibility, including the ability to mentor junior staff

A "make it happen" attitude to getting things done

A caring approach to clients
