About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Family Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team at Silkman Austen Brown Lawyers in Dubbo, New South Wales. As a Senior Family Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality legal services to our clients, specialising in all aspects of family law. This full-time position offers a rewarding and challenging opportunity to further develop your expertise and make a significant impact within our growing practice.

Your Role

Providing expert legal advice and representation to clients on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting matters, property settlements, and other related issues.

Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as financial agreements, parenting plans, and court applications

Appearing in court and negotiating on behalf of clients to achieve the best possible outcomes

Conducting legal research, analysis, and interpretation to support client matters

Advising clients on their legal rights and responsibilities, and guiding them through the legal process

Maintaining a strong understanding of evolving family law legislation and case law to ensure our clients receive the most up-to-date and effective legal representation

Mentoring junior lawyers and legal assistants within the family law team

Contributing to the overall growth and success of the firm's family law practice

What we're looking for

Post-qualification experience in family law within Australia

Demonstrated expertise in all areas of family law, including property settlements, parenting arrangements, and child support

Exceptional legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Strong advocacy and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent clients effectively in court and during settlement negotiations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and accessible manner

A genuine passion for family law and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients

A collaborative and team-oriented approach, with the ability to mentor and support junior members of the legal team

Proficiency in using legal software such as LEAP and other technology to enhance efficiency and productivity
