Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Trade Assistant to join our team.

The Trade Assistant – Fit-Out plays a key support role in the modular construction process, assisting qualified tradespeople in the internal fit-out of container-based structures. The role ensures smooth daily operations by preparing materials, handling tools, maintaining clean workspaces, and supporting the installation of key fit-out elements such as walls, fixtures, cabinetry, and flooring.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the internal installation of components during the fit-out stage, including walls, partitions, doors, cabinetry, and general fixtures.

• Carry out general labouring tasks such as moving materials, prepping workspaces, and supporting trades with tasks requiring additional hands.

• Operate basic hand and power tools safely with minimum supervision.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work environment at all times.

• Follow daily instructions from supervisors and senior trades personnel.

• Support trades such as carpenters, electricians, and painters by providing tools, holding materials, or assisting with simple tasks.

• Handle delivery, storage, and movement of materials within the Fit-Out Shed.

• Adhere to safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

• Participate in toolbox talks and report hazards, near misses, or unsafe practices.

• Assist other Modulate teams when required (Assembly, Fabrication).

• Complete tasks efficiently and to quality standards set by the company.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Proven experience or strong interest in hands-on work in a construction, manufacturing, or fit-out environment.

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

• Good physical fitness and manual handling capability.

• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.

• Willingness to learn and support qualified tradespeople.

Desirable:

• White Card (Construction Induction Card)

• Forklift licence

• Prior experience in modular building or container fit-outs
