The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Procurement Officer to join the City’s Commercial Services team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Procurement Lead to prepare and review tenders, requests for quotation, and other procurement-related contracts. You will ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and internal procedures, while also maintaining and proactively monitoring contract registers.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare and/or review tenders, contracts and purchasing documents related to procurement activities.
Provide advice, information and guidance on procurement related matters to staff across the City to support good practice in procurement.
Ensure compliance with contract, procurement, and purchasing policies and processes.
Ensure compliance with government legislation and organisational policies across those processes.
Monitor Purchase Card usage and reconciliations for compliance with organisational policies.
Work collaboratively across the organisation, contributing to continuous improvement and process standardisation.
Undertake internal purchasing related audits and compliance reviews.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
Demonstrated experience in supporting contracting, tendering, and purchasing processes.
Demonstrated experience in providing reporting, monitoring, administration and compliance support within an organisation.
Experience in the use of integrated corporate systems and with Microsoft office applications.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to review contract and technical documents.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to consult and liaise with a variety of people in all levels of the organisation, and with other internal and external stakeholders.
