My client, a leading name in the electrical contracting world across Australia, has asked me to source them an experienced Electrical BIM Modeller to bolster their Victorian engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain accurate 3D models of electrical services using Revit and Navisworks in compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
  
  
• Lead the modelling and coordination of electrical services with other disciplines (HVAC, hydraulics, fire, structure, architecture).
  
  
• Produce coordinated shop drawings, installation details, and prefabrication drawings as required.
  
  
• Work with the BIM Manager and project teams to ensure consistent standards, workflows, and quality control across all models.
  
  
• Participate in and occasionally lead clash detection sessions using Navisworks or similar tools, resolving issues with stakeholders.
  
  
• Assist in the development and mentoring of junior modellers and contribute to team capability building.
  
  
• Collaborate with construction teams to support buildability, site coordination, and as-built documentation.
  
  
• Ensure all BIM work adheres to the businesses digital engineering standards, QA processes, and client deliverables.
  
  

Key Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical BIM modelling for commercial or infrastructure projects.
  
  
• Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage (AutoCAD, BIM 360, Dynamo knowledge advantageous).
  
  
• Deep understanding of electrical systems including power, lighting, communications, and containment.
  
  
• Experience working in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor or design consultancy environment.
  
  
• Proven experience in multi-disciplinary coordination and federated modelling processes.
  
  
• Familiarity with Australian building codes, standards, and construction practices.
  
  
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
  
  
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Building Design, or similar discipline (TAFE or equivalent).
  
  
• Additional training in BIM or Digital Engineering highly desirable.
  
  
• Electrical trade background or prior site experience (advantageous but not essential).
