Our client is a rapidly growing, Newcastle owned and operated business, providing services to the mining, industrial, marine and transport industries. Specializing in fluid power components, service, machining, and technical services, they are committed to excellence and innovation in hydraulic solutions.

The company works predominantly in Hydraulics and is known for its efficiency in turnaround times and attention to detail.

We are seeking a Technical Officer with experience in hydraulics to join our dynamic engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and detail-oriented professional to support the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex hydraulic systems across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for the design, installation, and maintenance of hydraulic systems.
  • Assist engineers with system testing, data collection, and performance analysis.
  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic equipment and resolve technical issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and equipment specifications.
  • Ensure systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company procedures (Quality Assurance)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, sales, management and engineering. About You:
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in hydraulic systems – design, testing, operation, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of fluid power principles and hydraulic components (pumps, motors, valves, actuators, cylinders).
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Qualifications and experience in Quality Assurance including ISO9001 will be very highly regarded but not essential.
