As our Analytics Engineering Lead, you’ll shape the future of our data capabilities by evolving our enterprise data warehouse to support regulatory reporting, performance insights and broader analytics across the business on a full time 12 month fixed-term contract.
Overseeing a team of Analytics Engineers, you will lead by example in driving technical excellence and champion modern, scalable development approaches. Experience working with technologies like Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms is highly desirable, in addition to a strong background in data modelling, data pipelines, and data warehousing best practices. You will collaborate with senior leaders in the Technology Division to help shape the data strategy, aligning technical solutions with NGM Group’s business objectives.
You will lead your team to:
Design, deliver and optimise scalable dual-brand data models that ensures consistency, scalability and trust across all reporting layers.
Work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust data solutions and oversee high-quality products that drive informed decisions.
Adopt modern data tools and frameworks, such as Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms.
Design and implement the data warehouse to provide user-friendly and intuitive models, providing valuable support to our business stakeholders.
Prioritize and deliver on analytics projects while balancing technical debt and innovation.
Manage timelines and resources to ensure successful delivery of data solutions.
Adhere to set standards for data integrity, accuracy and security.
Work collaboratively with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Data Engineers and the broader Technology Division.
What are we looking for?
Leadership that is proactive and centred around fostering an environment where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged and celebrated.
Demonstrated experience in data and modelling - conceptual, logical, physical and other models.
Strong SQL skills and experience in programming languages such as Python
Experience with data platforms such as Databricks (preferred), BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Dataform, Azure Data Factory, and Informatica.
Strong ability to engage and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Extensive experience in implementing, designing & developing data warehousing, and reporting assets from complex and disparate enterprise data sources.
A strong understanding of modern CI/CD processes, version control, and automated testing practices as they apply to data engineering workflows.
