About the role

We want to welcome a Marine Mechanic to our family-owned small business, OHM Electronics in Broome, WA.

OHM offers a range of products and services for commercial and recreational boats. We operate a busy retail shop and offer installation and servicing for boats onsite and at remote locations.

This ranges from outboard motors (Mercury) and marine electronics (Simrad, Lowrance, Raymarine, Icom etc) to boating accessories and marine chandlery.

You will report to the workshop manager and be responsible for repairing and maintaining outboard motors, installing new Mercury Outboards, and installing 12V wiring and accessories.

Servicing outboards & repairs

Repowers

12/24 volt installations

Maintaining a tidy workshop, vehicles, and yard

Diagnosing, servicing and repairing a variety of marine engines, systems and equipment

Utilise online customer records to prepare detailed reports on works completed and parts used, and to quote repairs

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

Formal qualification in Marine Mechanics or a related Automotive Trades discipline

Working at heights, forklift operation, HC license, boating experience/qualifications

Cabling, electrical & marine experience

Experience working as a mechanic

Attention to detail and a strong work ethic

Good English communication skills

A passion for boating
