The Business:
Our client is a privately owned business located in Perth's CBD. Income is primarily derived from the management, acquisition and disposal of a large portfolio of commercial properties; turnover is between $10m-$20m.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the Finance team. This role is 5 days a week in the office and reports directly to the Managing Director. The FC is responsible for all reporting & auditing, financial control & governance, management of internal/external stakeholders and service providers, budgetary control, tax compliance, continuous improvement and financial guidance for the business.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a high performing finance team with direct supervision of 3-4 accountants
• Take charge of deliverables and liaise closely with key internal/external stakeholders
• Delivery of all financial reporting requirements (half-year and full-year)
• Company Secretarial functions
• Manage the end-to-end audit process with external auditors
• Oversee fund budgeting and forecasting process
• Responsible for Responsible Entity budgets and forecasts
• Prepare cash flow reporting
• Month-end close and reconciliations
• Responsible for overseeing day to day tax compliance activities and collaborating with external tax advisors on tax matters and key transactions
• Ensure compliance with ASIC, AFSL, and registered scheme requirements
• Liaise with internal development team for management of capex
• Review reconciliations, performance fees, and unit calculations
• Identify opportunities and implement solutions to ensure efficient, transparent and effective processes, controls and governance

About you:

• Accounting degree
• Postgrad/CPA/CA completed
• A strong accountant who also takes great joy in team leadership
• Ability to manage and meet reporting deadlines and requirements
• Collaborative and results focused
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Strong self-leadership
• Experience improving systems and processes, building new ones where needed.
