A performance test engineer specializing in Appian with hands-on Locust experience will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing performance tests, analyzing results, and identifying bottlenecks to optimize system performance. This role requires strong technical skills in performance testing methodologies, scripting with Locust, and a deep understanding of Appian's platform.

Responsibilities:

Test Strategy and Planning:
Design and implement performance test strategies aligned with Appian development practices.
Develop and maintain performance test plans, test cases, and scripts.
Define and execute load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests.
Prepare and manage test data to support test requirements.

Scripting and Execution:
Develop and execute performance test scripts using Locust.
Utilize Locust to simulate user load and behavior on Appian applications.
Configure and administer Locust for performance and load testing.
Integrate Locust with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.

Monitoring and Analysis:
Monitor system performance and resource utilization during tests.
Collect and analyze performance metrics (response time, throughput, error rates, etc.).
Analyze test results, identify performance bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations.
Troubleshoot performance issues and document defects.

Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with developers, architects, and platform engineers to resolve performance issues.
Communicate performance test results and recommendations to stakeholders.
Work with other team members to define and review acceptance criteria.

Continuous Improvement:
Continuously improve testing strategies and tools.
Stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in performance testing.
Automate performance testing as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:
Strong experience in performance testing methodologies and best practices.
Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like Locust, JMeter, or LoadRunner.
Proficiency in scripting with Locust for simulating user load and behavior.
Familiarity with Appian's platform and architecture.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with performance monitoring tools.
Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs).
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
